Conductive Bonding and System Architectures for High‐Performance Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review outlines bonding technologies and structural design strategies that support high‐performance flexible and stretchable electronics. Bonding approaches such as surface‐activated bonding and anisotropic conductive films, together with system‐level architectures including buffer layers and island‐bridge structures, possess distinct mechanical ...

Synergistic effects of Ti–N–B additions on microstructure refinement and toughness enhancement in high-heat-input welded CGHAZ

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
High-heat-input welding enhances construction efficiency but deteriorates toughness in the coarse-grained heat-affected zone due to austenite grain coarsening and brittle microstructures.

Electric Field‐Dependent Conductivity as Probe for Charge Carrier Delocalization and Morphology in Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Applying a high electric field to a doped organic semiconductor heats up the charge carrier distribution beyond the lattice temperature, enhancing conductivity. It is shown that the associated effective temperature can be used to extract the effective localization length, which is a characteristic length scale of charge transport and provides ...

Biomaterials‐Based Hydrogel with Superior Bio‐Mimetic Ionic Conductivity and Tissue‐Matching Softness for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By mimicking the ion‐accelerating effect of ion channel receptors in neuron membranes, a biomaterials‐based ionic hydrogel (BIH) is developed, which offers a high ionic conductivity of 7.04 S m−1, outperforming conventional chitosan, cellulose, agarose, starch, and gelatin based ionic hydrogels.

Delamination growth analysis in quasi-isotropic laminates under loads simulating low-velocity impact [PDF]

open access: yes
A geometrically nonlinear finite-element analysis was developed to calculate the strain energy released by delamination plates during impact loading. Only the first mode of deformation, which is equivalent to static deflection, was treated.

Erosion-corrosion behaviour of Zirconia WC-6Co, WC-6Ni and SS316 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The current study investigates a ceramic, two cermets and a metal under solid-liquid impingement with 3.5% NaCl and 150mg/l hydraulic fracturing sand at two extreme angles of impact, 90° and 20°.
