Beyond the Outburst: Charting a New Frontier for Understanding and Treating Irritability in Autistic Adults

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Irritability is a prevalent and impairing feature associated with autism, yet remains poorly understood, particularly in adults. Drawing heavily on insights translated from pediatric and transdiagnostic literatures, we propose that irritability in autistic individuals often reflects a psychophysiological stress or threat response, rooted in a ...

A Markovian batch arrival queueing system with disasters, working breakdowns, and impatience: Mathematical modeling and economic analysis [PDF]

open access: yesYugoslav Journal of Operations Research
Machining systems are essential for many industrial applications, such as manufacturing, processing, and assembly. However, these systems are often exposed to various sources of uncertainty and disruption, such as disasters and customer impatience. These

Stability of Queueing Systems with Impatience, Balking and Non-Persistence of Customers

open access: yesMathematics
The operation of many queueing systems is adequately described by the structured multidimensional continuous-time Markov chains. The most well-studied classes of such chains are level-independent Quasi-Birth-and-Death processes, GI/M/1 type and M/G/1 ...

HLA genotype testing for carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine and eslicarbazepine: A guideline developed by the UK Centre of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation in Pharmacogenomics (CERSI‐PGx)

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Carbamazepine is licensed in the United Kingdom for the treatment of epilepsy, bipolar disorder and trigeminal neuralgia. The related compounds oxcarbazepine and eslicarbazepine are licensed for the treatment of epilepsy. These drugs can cause immune‐mediated hypersensitivity reactions, which typically affect the skin, and can be of variable severity ...

Analysis of BMAP/PH/N-Type Queueing System with Flexible Retrials Admission Control

open access: yesMathematics
This research examines a multi-server retrial queueing system with a batch Markov arrival process and a phase-type service time distribution. The system’s distinguishing feature is its ability to control the admission of retrial customers.

On the importance of including both sexes in animal studies – insights from home‐cage monitoring

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A review of behavioural studies using home‐cage monitoring (HCM) systems revealed that over 61% of studies used only male subjects, with only 24% including both sexes, despite evidence of substantial behavioural differences between male and female animals. This bias could influence the outcomes of biomedical research.
