Enhanced Electrical Impedance Tomographyviathe Mumford–Shah Functional [PDF]

open access: yesESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations, 2001
Summary: We consider the problem of electrical impedance tomography where conductivity distribution in a domain is to be reconstructed from boundary measurements of voltage and currents. It is well known that this problem is highly ill-posed. In this work, we propose the use of the Mumford-Shah functional, developed for segmentation and denoising of ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Impedance Spectroscopy for Enhanced Data Collection of Conductometric Soot Sensors

open access: yes2020 IEEE 29th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2020
Impedance spectroscopy in the frequency range 100 Hz to 10 kHz has been applied to the Inter-Digitated Electrode (IDE) structure that is conventionally operated as a resistive sensor for the measurement of Particulate Matter (PM). The measurement of both the in-phase (resistive) and out-of-phase (capacitive) components of the impedance over this ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

A Partial Impedance Decoupling Control Method for PMSG-Based Wind Farms Connected to a Weak Grid

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Under weak grid conditions, the coupling between the grid-connected converter and the grid impedance tends to bring in harmonic instability in the permanent-magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs)-based wind farm system.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Performance and influencing factors of acoustic grating based on signal enhancement

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao
In the acoustic signal receiving section of underwater vehicle, an effective measure to improve surface acoustic impedance and reduce signal attenuation is to cover acoustic barrier plate of hydrophone array with high impedance material (signal ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
