Impedance matching at arterial bifurcations
Journal of Biomechanics, 1993Reflections of pulse waves will occur in arterial bifurcations unless the impedance is matched continuously through changing geometric and elastic properties. A theoretical model is presented which minimizes pulse wave reflection through bifurcations.

Electrically small antenna suffer from the high Q impedance such as narrow bandwidth and poor gain. To improve them, passive impedance matching is often used but it is restricted to a Bode-Fano limit. To skip it, active matching incorporating non-Foster circuits can provide a good solution.

Impedance Networks and Their Matching
2017Impedance networks matching involves input impedance matching, output impedance matching, and load phase matching, which should be considered together as designing an impedance networks converter.

Impedance transformation and matching
1991Starting with the expression derived in Chapter 2 for the input impedance of a length of terminated transmission line, it is shown that the transmission line acts as an impedance transformer of complex ratio. The Smith chart, a form of circle diagram which is a graphical aid for solving many transmission line and waveguide impedance calculations, is ...

Impedance Matching (Correspondence)
IRE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1955Matching an impedance to a transmission line by the use of a cascaded section of line is a well-known process. However, the range of terminating impedance that can be matched by this method, I believe, is not so well-known. Consider a lossless line of characteristic impedance R/sub0/ to which is to be matched an arbitrary impedance /bar Z/ = R + jX by ...

A fundamental skill required in shock wave physics [1–4] is to determine the P-u states behind shock waves after they have reflected from a material boundary or intersect another wave. The best way to understand the resulting shock wave states is graphically using wave propagation x-t graphs combined with P-u graphs.
