Surface impedance models for high impedance surfaces

Applied Physics A, 2011
Different analytical and numerical methods for calculating the surface impedance of a high impedance surface (HIS) structure have been studied and compared. In this article, two new approaches are proposed for calculating the surface impedance for general 2D-spatial periodic HIS structures, which include both the symmetric and asymmetric planar ...

Broadband Time-Domain Impedance Models

AIAA Journal, 2001
The modeling of a set of impedance values given either experimentally or heuristically for implementation as a time-domain impedance-equivalent boundary condition (TDIBC) is discussed. It is shown that impedance as defined by the reflection of plane harmonic waves when extended for broadband time-domain applications can correspond to mathematically ...

Modelling for Scanning Impedance Imaging

2005 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology 27th Annual Conference, 2005
Scanning electrical impedance imaging (SII) is a previously-introduced high resolution imaging modality with the potential of imaging the electrical activities of biological tissues. In this paper, a detailed complex electrostatic model is derived to describe the physical phenomena of the SII system.

The LEP impedance model

Proceedings of International Conference on Particle Accelerators, 2002
The bunch current in LEP is limited by collective effects slightly below its design value. To understand this limitation, a set of experiments has been carried out to obtain a model of the impedance seen by the circulating beam. From measurements of the current dependance of the synchrotron and betatron frequencies information about the longitudinal ...

Impedance Modeling for eRHIC

2018
The impedance budget for the eRHIC project is discussed at its earlier stage of development. As a first step, with the eRHIC lattice and beam parameters , we use the geometric impedances of the vacuum chamber components simulated for the NSLS-II project.

Experimental modelling of biomechanical impedance characteristics

Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1986
New experimental modelling of biomechanical impedance is proposed. The parameters which express the impedance characteristics are simply determined by impedance measurement. Audiofrequencies below about 1000 Hz and comparatively lower preloads (below about 6370 kg m−2) are chosen as the research domain.

A generic impedance modeling technique

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2020
Abstract In this work, a generic impedance modeling technique is proposed. The technique is able to identify a circuit model that is most suitable for fitting measured impedance magnitude data using a genetic algorithm solver as well as the optimum circuit model parameters.

Railway lines models for impedance evaluation

8th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.98EX227), 2002
This paper deals with modeling of electrified railway lines using the multiconductor transmission lines (MTLs) approach, in order to investigate the harmonic impedance seen at the train pantograph at various locations along the line. A railway line model has been studied and a sensitivity analysis with respect to the structure of the model has been ...

Electrode Modelling in Electrical Impedance Tomography

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1992
Summary: In electrical impedance tomography, measurements of an applied electrical current and the corresponding electrical potential are made on a finite number of electrodes placed on the boundary of an object. These measurements are then used to reconstruct the electrical conductivity distribution in the interior of the object.

The Impedance of Curved Artery Models

Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1983
The impedance (pressure drop/flow rate) of four curved artery models has been determined experimentally for steady and periodic flows simulating conditions in the aortic arch. Steady flow results indicate that very short entry lengths are required for flow development in curved artery models, and impedance is elevated above straight tube values by a ...
