Generalized Backward Induction: Justification for a Folk Algorithm
I introduce axiomatically infinite sequential games that extend Kuhn’s classical framework. Infinite games allow for (a) imperfect information, (b) an infinite horizon, and (c) infinite action sets.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Impact of Imperfect Channel State Information on RS Coding Aided Hybrid-ARQ in Rayleigh Fading Channels [PDF]
Hybrid Automatic-Repeat-reQuest (ARQ) schemes are capable of maintaining reliable communications for transmission over hostile wireless channels. In coherent detection aided schemes, the achievable performance substantially depends on the accuracy of ...

Computing Human-Understandable Strategies: Deducing Fundamental Rules of Poker Strategy
Algorithms for equilibrium computation generally make no attempt to ensure that the computed strategies are understandable by humans. For instance the strategies for the strongest poker agents are represented as massive binary files.

Pushdown Module Checking with Imperfect Information [PDF]
The model checking problem for finite-state open systems (module checking) has been extensively studied in the literature, both in the context of environments with perfect and imperfect information about the system. Recently , the perfect information case has been extended to infinite-state systems (pushdown module checking).

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Capability Building and Learning: An Emergent Behavior Approach
Economics-based models of firms typically overlook management acts and capability development. We propose a model that analyzes the aggregate behavior of a population of firms resulting from both specific management decisions and learning processes, that
