Narrative Discourse in Spanish : A Two Reference Points System for Verb Tense Representation [PDF]

open access: yes
Numerous systems have been conceived to date to show the temporal meanings associated with tenses. Some of them claim to be universal but fail to represent the contrast between tenses like Spanish imperfect and pretérito.

High Temperature Corrosion Behavior of Inconel 617 in Environment of Impure Helium

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu
The helium coolant in the primary circuit of the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) contains trace of impurities such as CO, H2, H2O, and CH4, which have an adverse effect on the structural materials at elevated temperature. Mainly, the corrosion

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Performance analysis and simulation of the SPS reference phase control system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
The major elements required in the operation of an SPS which employs retrodirectivity as a means of pointing the beam to Earth include the spacetenna, the rectenna, and the pilot signal transmitter. The phase control system is faced with several problems:

Identification of molecular quantum states using phase-sensitive forces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Quantum-logic techniques used to manipulate quantum systems are now increasingly being applied to molecules. Previous experiments on single trapped diatomic species have enabled state detection with excellent fidelities and highly precise spectroscopic ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Environmental Policy and Bounded Rationality. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
PhDThe Prospect Theory proposes to assess outcomes relative to a reference point (or benchmark). Although the literature recognises the relevance of dynamic benchmarks, most of the applications of Prospect Theory employ static reference points (or a ...
