Imperfect Preventive-Maintenance

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1979
This paper considers a periodic preventive maintenance (pm) policy with ``minimal repair'' at failure; pm is imperfect. A special case of failure (hazard) rate improvement is postulated wherein pm reduces the failure rate, but does not return the time origin all the way to zero.

Optimal Age-Policy with Imperfect Preventive Maintenance

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1981
We study the optimal age policy with imperfect preventive maintenance. The preventive maintenance is imperfect in the sense that it can cause failure of a non-failed system ...

Optimum Policies When Preventive Maintenance is Imperfect

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1979
This paper considers three models with imperfect preventive maintenance (pm), viz the unit after pm is not always like new; i) the unit is repaired upon failure, ii) the unit undergoes minimal repair at failure, and iii) the failed unit is detected only by perfect pm.

Integrated preventive maintenance and production decisions for imperfect processes

Reliability Engineering and System Safety, 2016
Abstract This paper integrates production, maintenance, and quality for an imperfect process in a multi-period multi-product capacitated lot-sizing context. The production system is modeled as an imperfect machine, whose the status is considered to be either in-control or out-of-control.

Optimal imperfect preventive maintenance policies for a used system

International Journal of Systems Science, 2012
In some practical situations, it may be more economical to work a used system than do a new one. From this viewpoint, this article considers three basic preventive maintenance PM policies for a used system: the system with initial variable damage Y 0 begins to operate at time 0, and suffers damage due to shocks.

Optimization of imperfect preventive maintenance for multi-state systems

Reliability Engineering and System Safety, 2000
Abstract The paper generalizes a preventive maintenance optimization problem to multi-state systems, which have a range of performance levels. Multi-state system reliability is defined as the ability to satisfy given demand. The reliability of system elements is characterized by their hazard functions.
