Maximum ratio Combining performance with imperfect channel estimates

IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 2002
In this paper, we examine the impact of channel estimation errors on Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) in receive diversity systems, in the presence of co-channel interferers. The channel is modelled as flat Rayleigh fading, slowly varying and spatially independent. It is assumed that the spatial combiner weights are imperfect estimates of the desired user'

Alternating Locking Ratios in Imperfect Phase Synchronization

Physical Review Letters, 1999
In periodically driven chaotic dynamical systems with a broad distribution of intrinsic time scales, perfect phase synchronization cannot be reached. Long segments of evolution during which the phase of a chaotic variable follows the phase of the driving force are interrupted by short segments of phase drift.

Performance analysis of maximum ratio transmission with imperfect channel estimation

IEEE Communications Letters, 2005
Maximal ratio transmission (MRT) is designed assuming the availability of perfect channel state information (CSI) at both the transmitter and the receiver. However, perfect CSI is not available in practice. This paper investigates the impact of Gaussian estimation errors on the MRT performance in independently and identically distributed (i.i.d ...

Corrections for polarizer and spectrometer imperfections in the measurement of infrared dichronic ratios

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1993
Abstract The measurement of dichroic ratios in highly absorbing systems requires careful consideration of the effects of instrumental polarization sensitivity and of polarizer imperfections if accurate results are to be obtained. If the absorbances exceed about 1.5, corrections due to imperfect polarizers can become important but are fairly easily ...

Space-Time Block Coded Maximum Ratio Transmission with Imperfect Channel Estimation

2007 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2007
We consider a multi-input-multi-output system employing space-time block codes (STBC). Different from conventional approaches, the proposed transmitter linearly combines data together with estimation of channel state information, so that no channel estimation is needed at the receiver side when phase-shift keying (PSK) modulation is employed.

Maximum ratio combining of correlated Rayleigh fading channels with imperfect channel knowledge

IEEE Communications Letters, 2003
The bit error probability for binary modulation and multiple correlated Rayleigh fading diversity branches is derived. The receiver performs maximum ratio combining of the diversity branches based on noisy channel estimates. Our results provide new analytical insights into performance, design, and optimization of some known communication receivers.
