Internal impingement in the shoulder

Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2000
Current wisdom holds that the acromion is a major factor in the development of rotator cuff impingement. From the examination of a large number of skeletal specimens (1232 shoulders), we conclude that this view may require some modification. It appears that internal impingement between the glenoid and the humeral head may also be a significant ...

Ulnar impingement syndrome

The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1985
We report the ulnar impingement syndrome, which is caused by a shortened ulna impinging on the distal radius and causing a painful, disabling pseudarthrosis. Of the 11 cases reported, 10 were due to excision of the distal ulna after injury to the wrist; the other was a result of a growth arrest after a fracture of the distal ulna in a child.

Non-Femoroacetabular Impingement

Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, 2013
Femoroacetabular impingement is one of the causes of hip pain leading to acetabular labral tears and cartilage damage that may lead to the development of early osteoarthritis. More recently other causes of impingement have been recognized that may be the culprit for the painful hip.
