Review and status of heat-transfer technology for internal passages of air-cooled turbine blades [PDF]
Selected literature on heat-transfer and pressure losses for airflow through passages for several cooling methods generally applicable to gas turbine blades is reviewed. Some useful correlating equations are highlighted.

From farm to pharma, this review details the engineering of quality in medicinal plants through a science‐driven approach: it first elucidates how genetic and environmental factors inscribe the plant's phytochemical and phytopharmacological profile before harvest, and then dissects the postharvest techniques and technologies—chemical and thermal pre ...

A Portable ULF scanner (1a) imaged a subject (1b) and phantom (1c) to give T2 (2a) and DW (2b) acquisitions alongside a regularised phantom fieldmap (2c). These were processed to give corrected DTI (3a) and CSD (3b) derivatives and were used for whole‐brain tractography (3c) in a feasible acquisition duration.

The growth mechanism of AlN films for high electron mobility transistors passivation is systematically investigated via radio‐frequency molecular beam epitaxy. While high‐temperature growth (700 °C) utilizes excess aluminum as a surfactant forming surface droplets, low‐temperature growth (300 °C) traps excess aluminum as defective metallic interlayers.

Development of sprayed ceramic seal systems for turbine gas path sealing [PDF]
A ceramic seal system is reported that employs plasma-sprayed graded metal/ceramic yttria stabilized zirconium oxide (YSZ). The performance characteristics of several YSZ configurations were determined through rig testing for thermal shock resistance ...

Novel Wide‐Spectrum Virucidal Lipid Nanoparticles
POSTAN is a novel broad‐spectrum antiviral nanoparticle that combines safety with potent virucidal activity. Composed of biocompatible lipids, it mimics heparan sulfate proteoglycans and lipid rafts exploited by viruses, thereby dismantling viral envelopes and blocking replication.

This study demonstrates the first in situ application of grazing incidence X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (GI‐XAS) to probe interfacial degradation in MnO2 cathodes of zinc‐ion batteries. By varying the incidence angle, surface‐ and bulk‐specific redox changes are revealed, highlighting Mn dissolution and incomplete reoxidation as key factors driving ...

Numerical Modeling of Purely Active (Plume‐Produced) Continental Rifting and Break‐Up
Abstract In contrast to the traditional mechanism of passive continental rifting (driven by far‐field tectonic forces), the active rifting‐to‐break‐up processes (caused by rising mantle plumes) are still poorly understood. However, most episodes of fragmentation of the last supercontinent Pangea were relatively shortly preceded (within ∼10 Myr) by the ...
