Cooling performance of an impingement cooling device combined with pins

Experimental study and one dimensional model analysis were conducted to investigate cooling performance of an integrated impingement and pin fin cooling device. A typical configuration specimen was made and tested in a large scale low speed closed-looped wind tunnel.

The influence of dynamic forcing of a 7 by 7 impinging jet array on the cooling efficiency is investigated experimentally. Thereby, this work focused on determining the influence side wall induced cross flow has on the local convective heat transfer on an electrically heated target plate and on enhancing the local convective heat transfer.

AbstractAn experience study was conducted on evaporative cooling of air in an impinging‐stream reactor, in which two droplets gas streams flow in opposite directions and meet in the impingement zone. The air was cooler by evaporation of water droplets.
