Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Photobiomodulation Effect on Implant Stability in Immediate Implant in the Maxillary Premolars. A Prospective Cases Series. [PDF]
Background: Evidence on the use of low-level laser photobiomodulation in immediate implant placement is limited. The study aimed at describing the outcomes of low-level laser biostimulation for immediate implant placement in the maxillary premolars zone ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Relationship Between Peri-Implant Marginal Bone Loss and Resonance Frequency Analysis
Resonance frequency analysis (RFA) has been used as a diagnostic method to measure implant stability at all stages of healing. In addition to evaluating the status of the peri-implant marginal bone, it can also indicate the most appropriate time to load ...

A new endodontic stabilizer implant device
A new endodontic stabilizer implant device is presented that can be used immediately after enucleation of large periapical cysts. The force transmission characteristics of this implant were evaluated by means of photoelasticity. The implant served to distribute incisal forces within the supporting structure.
