An Algebraic Approach to Implicit Evolution Equations
Summary: A Banach algebra homomorphism on the convolution algebra of integrable functions is the essence of Kisyński's equivalent formulation of the Hille-Yosida theorem for analytic semigroups. For the study of implicit evolution equations the notion of empathy happens to be more appropriate than that of semigroup.

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

A low diffusion E-CUSP (LDE) scheme for preconditioned Navier-Stokes equations is developed. The LDE scheme with high-order WENO reconstruction and high order difference scheme for viscous terms is used to simulate several flows at various speed from low

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

An implicit Keller Box numerical scheme for the solution of fractional subdiffusion equations
In this work, we present a new implicit numerical scheme for fractional subdiffusion equations. In this approach we use the Keller Box method [1] to spatially discretise the fractional subdiffusion equation and we use a modified L1 scheme (ML1), similar ...

On numerical integration of implicit ordinary differential equations [PDF]
summary:In this paper it is shown how the numerical methods for ordinary differential equations can be adapted to implicit ordinary differential equations. The resulting methods are of the same order as the corresponding methods for ordinary differential

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

From explicit to implicit normal mode initialization of a limited-area model
In this note the implicit normal mode initialization of a limited-area model is discussed from a different point of view. To that end it is shown that the equations describing the explicit normal mode initialization applied to the shallow water equations
