Types and modularity for implicit invocation with implicit announcement [PDF]
Through implicit invocation, procedures are called without explicitly referencing them. Implicit announcement adds to this implicitness by not only keeping implicit which procedures are called, but also where or when—under implicit invocation with implicit announcement, the call site contains no signs of that, or what it calls.

Implicitization of Curves Parameterized by Generalized Trigonometric Polynomials.
Consider a plane curve given parametrically by a generalized trigonometric polynomial, that is, x + iy = P n k=1 a k e ik` . In this paper, we obtain an implicitization of the curve, that is, an equation in x and y which captures all the points on the ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Bernstein–Bezoutian matrices and curve implicitization
A new application of Bernstein–Bezoutian matrices, a type of resultant matrices constructed when the polynomials are given in the Bernstein basis, is presented.

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Implicit surfaces that interpolate [PDF]
Implicit surfaces are often created by summing a collection of radial basis functions. Researchers have begun to create implicit surfaces that exactly interpolate a given set of points by solving a simple linear system to assign weights to each basis function.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

An Implicitization Algorithm for Rational Surfaces with no Base Points
We present an implicitization algorithm which is free of extraneous factors if the rational parametric surface has no base points. This algorithm is based on the method of Sylvester for computing the resultant of three homogeneous polynomials in three ...

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...
