Predictors of Brain Infarction in Pediatric Patients During Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
In 179 pediatric ECMO patients, brain infarction (BI) occurred in 28% and was linked to markedly higher 30‐day mortality. VA ECMO mode (vs. VV) and higher pre‐ECMO arterial lactate independently predicted BI, supporting standardized neuro‐monitoring and liberal early brain CT, especially for children on VA ECMO.

Impostor in the Mirror: A Clinician’s Reflection on Impostor Syndrome

open access: yes
Imposter syndrome, the internalised fear of being exposed as inadequate despite evidence of competence, is common in medicine. Using personal reflections from early training and later leadership roles, this manuscript explores how postgraduate rotations, workplace hierarchies, and professional expectations foster self-doubt among clinicians.

The oscillatory response of the electroretinogram and neuronal adaptation

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.

Dry eye disease symptoms and associated risk factors in a Norwegian clinical cohort

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The relationship between dry eye disease (DED) symptoms and different demographic, clinical and lifestyle factors remains poorly understood. Norway's cold climate and dry indoor air may accelerate tear evaporation, contributing to a very high meibomian gland dysfunction prevalence, as found in multiple studies.

Relationships between attachment insecurity, beliefs about the self and others, paranoia, and social functioning across the psychosis continuum

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Self‐beliefs and other‐regarding beliefs are related to attachment experiences and may contribute to paranoid beliefs and social functioning difficulties in psychosis. However, their relationships have not been examined jointly from an ecological perspective, while considering different degrees of psychosis risk.
