Efficiency of three-terminal thermoelectric transport under broken-time reversal symmetry

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate thermoelectric efficiency of systems with broken time reversal symmetry under a three-terminal transport. Using a model of Aharonov-Bohm interferometer formed with three noninteracting quantum dots, we show that Carnot efficiency can be ...

Tracking Control for FES-Cycling based on Force Direction Efficiency with Antagonistic Bi-Articular Muscles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A functional electrical stimulation (FES)-based tracking controller is developed to enable cycling based on a strategy to yield force direction efficiency by exploiting antagonistic bi-articular muscles.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

An Improved UU-MESFET with High Power Added Efficiency

open access: yesMicromachines, 2018
An improved ultrahigh upper gate 4H-SiC metal semiconductor field effect transistor (IUU-MESFET) is proposed in this paper. The structure is obtained by modifying the ultrahigh upper gate height h of the ultrahigh upper gate 4H-SiC metal semiconductor ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Pricing in Noncooperative Interference Channels for Improved Energy Efficiency

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2010
We consider noncooperative energy-efficient resource allocation in the interference channel. Energy efficiency is achieved when each system pays a price proportional to its allocated transmit power.

Does Manufacturing Transfer Improved Land Use Efficiency?

open access: yesSAGE Open
This paper aims to investigate the relationship between manufacturing industry transfer and land use efficiency in china. Our study found that industrial transfer does not have a significant impact on land use efficiency in the full sample. However, when

Seamless Integration of Active Antenna With Improved Power Efficiency

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Loss reduction to improve the power efficiency in active integrated antenna (AIA) is a key design drive. This paper first analyzes the loss mechanism in a convention AIA structure. A new integration scheme of a GaN power amplifier (PA) transistor with an
