Improving the performance of LOX/kerosene upper stage rocket engines

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2017
Improved liquid rocket engine cycles were proposed and analyzed via comparison with existing staged combustion and gas-generator cycles. The key features of the proposed cycles are regenerative cooling of thrust chamber by oxygen and subsequent use of ...

Acoustic Sounding of Hydraulic Fractures in a Low-Permeability Reservoir

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Theoretical models indicate the possibility of diagnosing the presence and the conductivity of the hydraulic fractures in reservoirs of the permeability of order milli Darcy by means of an acoustic TV set, which is a cylindrical probe of the length of ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Employment of mud-pulse generator for improvement of efficiency of a wellbore producing in complex mining and geological conditions

open access: yesPetroleum Research
In this study, the employment of mud-pulse generators to improve the efficiency of wellbores under complex mining and geological conditions is examined. A systemic analysis is made of the primary theoretical basis of the study.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Influence of the Residual Inductance of the Impulse Generator for the Generation of the Lightning Impulse Voltage

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Power and Energy, 2007
This paper describes the theoretical analysis of lightning impulse voltage waveform with an overshoot or oscillation caused by the residual inductance of the impulse generator. The oscillating lightning impulse waveform is expressed by the following formula;vout (t) = A {e-α1t - e-α2t sin(ωt+θ)/sinθ}where A, α1, α2, ω, θ are constants, respectively ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

GENERATION AND SPATIAL PROPAGATION OF LANDSLIDE GENERATED IMPULSE WAVES [PDF]

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 2017
Large subaerial mass wasting into water may generate large waves along coast lines and in bays. Hazard assessment of such an events is based on the decay rate of these impulse waves along their propagation path to populated areas and infrastructure along the shoreline.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
