Impulse Impedance and Effective Area of Grounding Grids

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2020
High values and uneven distribution of the transient ground potential rise (TGPR) at grounding grid conductors in cases of lightning can disrupt the system safety and reliability.

Impulse Efficient Optimum Impedance Grounding Electrode Configuration for Lightning Transients

IEEE transactions on electromagnetic compatibility (Print), 2023
As the simple grounding electrodes alone may not provide the required low impedance beyond the effective length, a new electrode configuration of optimum impedance is proposed for lightning transients.

Fault Location Detection Using Impedance and Impulse Injection on 20 kV Distribution System Wonokromo Base on Geographic Information System

International Conferences on Software Engineering and Information Management, 2021
The distribution system is one of the most important part in the power system electric supply. Long-distance topology made the distribution system is difficult to restore when the fault happened, because information about the fault location mostly ...

Evaluation of the Statistical Characteristics of Grounding Impulse Impedance of Transmission Line Towers

2019 International Symposium on Lightning Protection (XV SIPDA), 2019
This paper evaluates the representativity of median impulse impedance in lightning response of tower-footing electrodes, for impulses characteristic of first strokes.

Characterization of human joint impedance during impulsive motion

Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology, 1993
The objective of the present work is to make use of the limited existing information on human joint impedance and to supplement and refine it synthetically, by means of simulation. A modular concept was applied to the construction of a joint model. The basic module was an individual revolute joint which was constrained by four resistive elements.

Reflection of impulses as a method of determining acoustic impedance

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1984
An impulse technique has been developed which allows investigation of the reflection of acoustic transients at different angles from an impedance boundary. From measurements of the direct and reflected impulses, the complex surface impedance has been calculated from the ratio of the corresponding Fourier components.
