A Cell‐Intrinsic Role for RANK in Regulatory T Cells of the Human Thymus

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 2, February 2026.
We identified RANK (TNFRSF11a) expression in human thymic FOXP3+ Tregs, revealing a previously unknown role for the RANK‐RANKL axis in human tTreg development. We show that IL‐2 and IL‐15 can drive RANK expression in CD4+ tTregs, which in turn may modulate their maturation and proliferation within the thymic environment. Created in BioRender. Biorender,

Sit‐to‐Stand Power From 2D Pose Estimation as an Indicator of Muscle Strength in Older Adults

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The sit‐to‐stand (STS) test is a crucial tool for sarcopenia assessment. However, the two most widely used diagnostic frameworks differ in their conceptualization of the test. The European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People 2 views the STS test primarily as a proxy for muscle strength, while the Asian Working Group for ...

Wearable technology identifies differences in change of direction kinetics and kinematics in soccer players with a history of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 34, Issue 2, Page 402-414, February 2026.
Abstract Purpose This study investigates change of direction (COD) performance and biomechanics using wearable technology in athletes with a history of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL‐R) compared to healthy controls. Methods A within and between subjects' cross‐sectional design was used.
