Scheduling and Power Control for In-Band Full Duplex Communications

2017 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2017
In this paper, we consider the scheduling problem in In-Band Full Duplex (IBFD) communications for the access link, where only the Base Station (BS) is assumed to have Self- Interference Cancellation (SIC) capability but not the User Equipment (UE). Thus to achieve the gains from IBFD, the BS would need to schedule one downlink (DL) and one uplink (UL)

Frame length optimization for in-band full-duplex wireless LANs

2015 21st Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2015
This paper proposes frame length optimization for wireless local area networks (WLANs) using an in-band full-duplex system that enables a WLAN access point and stations to transmit and receive frames at the same time on the same frequency channel.

Antenna for In-Band Full-Duplex Wireless Communications

2018 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), 2018
In-Band Full-Duplex (IBFD) operation allows simultaneous transmission of data over the same frequency band. However, IBFD operation experiences a strong Self-Interference (SI) due to its TX-signal leaking to the receiver. This paper presents a compact dual port antenna (footprint about 0.33λ × 0.33λ) with high isolation between TX/RX ports designed ...

On the Performance of In-Band Full-Duplex Cooperative Communications

2016
In-band full-duplex, by which radios may simultaneously transmit and receive over the same channel, has been always considered practically-unfeasible due to the prohibitively strong self-interference. Indeed, a freshly-generated transmit signal power is typically ten orders of magnitude higher than that of a naturally-attenuated received signal.

Wideband Metasurface Antenna for In‐Band Full‐Duplex Applications

International Journal of Communication Systems
ABSTRACT This article proposes a novel metasurface patch antenna with characteristics of metasurface and broadband for in‐band full‐duplex applications, which is configured with a parasitic metasurface, a square patch, two separated feeding networks for transmitting and receiving ports (Tx and Rx), and a square ground.

Single antenna full duplex cancellation network for ISM band

2018 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2018
Full-Duplex (FD) communications can double wireless capacity by simultaneously transmitting and receiving (STAR) on the same frequency channel. In this paper, a single antenna solution is proposed using a hybrid coupler to isolate transmit and receive paths.

Multipacket reception performance in the presence of in-band full duplex communication

2015 IEEE International Conference on Communication Workshop (ICCW), 2015
In-Band Full-Duplex (FDX) and MultiPacket Reception (MPR) are two transmission technologies that can be used together to improve the overall network capacity. However, the FDX Self-Interference Cancellation (SIC) techniques only filter part of the transmitted signal from the reception.

Adaptive in-band self-backhauling for full-duplex small cells

2015 IEEE International Conference on Communication Workshop (ICCW), 2015
Recent advancements in the self-interference (SI) cancellation capability of low-power wireless devices pave the way of implementing full-duplex (FD) self-backhauling in smallcell networks. FD self-backhauling allows exploiting the radio spectrum used by the radio access network (RAN) for backhaul links as well as access links concurrently.

In-band full duplex: How it can work

2015 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2015
Exploring simultaneous transmission and reception at the same carrier frequency, in-band full duplex (IBFD) has great potential to double the spectral efficiency of wireless communications. However, IBFD also creates a major problem, that is, strong self-interference, which must be suppressed to the receiver noise floor to make it work.
