Clinical, Genetic, and Imaging Characteristics of SCA27B: Insights from a Large Dutch Cohort. [PDF]
Abstract Background Deep intronic GAA repeat expansions in intron 1 of the FGF14 gene were identified in 2023 as cause of late‐onset cerebellar ataxia. Since then, GAA‐FGF14‐related ataxia (SCA27B) has emerged as one of the most common genetic causes of late‐onset cerebellar ataxia.

Preliminary Design of a Heat Pipe-Cooled Blanket for CFETR
Blankets are a difficult problem for fusion engineering design. Because of the complex flow channels, the design, production, processing, and accident maintenance of blankets are all huge challenges for traditional water/gas-cooled blankets. Blankets are

Thermo-hydraulic analysis of PbLi ancillary system of WCLL TBM undergoing in-box LOCA
Abstract The European liquid Test Blanket Module (TBM) concept named Water Cooled Lithium Lead makes use of the liquid metal alloy PbLi as tritium breeder/neutron multiplier and water as coolant. A dedicated PbLi ancillary system feeds the detritiated liquid metal alloy to the TBM and returns the PbLi enriched with tritium.

Abstract The in-box LOCA (Loss of Coolant Accident) is a relevant safety issue for the design of the WCLL BB. Research activities are ongoing to master phenomena and processes occurring during the postulated accident, to enhance the predictive capability and reliability of numerical tools, and to validate computer models, codes and procedures for ...

Accident-tolerant hybrid ceramics for fusion breeding blanket
In a water-cooled ceramic breeding blanket for fusion reactors, hydrogen gas generation by steam oxidation of metallic Be compounds (i.e. neutron multiplier) in a loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) raises major safety concerns.
