Salt induced corrosion behaviour of superalloy IN718
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2018Abstract Nickel-ferrous based superalloy IN718 is used in gas turbine engine as compressor disk and blade. The performance of these components is severely affected in marine environment. This investigation deals with NaCl salt induced corrosion of the superalloy IN718 at 600°C. NaCl was deposited on the sample using spray gun technique.

Adhesion Strength of HVOF Sprayed IN718 Coatings
Journal of Thermal Spray Technology, 2011The adhesion strength of high-velocity oxyfuel thermally sprayed coatings is of prime importance when thick coatings are to be sprayed in repair applications. In this study, relationships between process parameters, particle in-flight characteristics, residual stresses, and adhesion strength were explored.

Mechanical Evaluation of IN718-AL6XN Dissimilar Weldment
2017Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) was used to join Inconel 718 and AL6XN plates. The welding was made in aged condition for the Inconel 718 plates. Mechanical properties were determined by tensile, microhardness and instrumented Charpy impact tests. An ERNiFeCr-2 filler metal was fed by a semiautomatic mechanism.

The mechanical and microstructural characteristics of laser-deposited IN718
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2005Abstract The paper is concerned with the application of laser deposition to the nickel-based superalloy INCONEL™ 718 (IN718). Several blocks of material were manufactured using the LENS™ process and subsequently heat treated and tensile tested. Following this, further sections of the original blocks were hot isostatically pressed (HIPed) and then ...

Production of IN718 superalloys by powder injection moulding
2022This study aimed to determine optimum sintering parameters of IN718 superalloy powder parts which are shaped by the Powder Injection Moulding (PIM) method. At initial stage IN718 powder was mixed with a multi-component binder system. The resulting mixture was granulated and injected as standard tensile bar form.
