Degradation of chlorophenol by in-situ electrochemically generated oxidant
Journal of Zhejiang University-SCIENCE A, 2004A novel in-situ electrochemical oxidation method was applied to the degradation of wastewater containing chlorophenol. Under oxygen sparging, the strong oxidant, hydrogen dioxide, could be in-situ generated through the reduction of oxygen on the surface of the cathode.

A collaborative study of in situ forage protein degradation
Journal of Animal Science, 1995An in situ procedure was used in four collaborative trials to evaluate the variation in estimates of ruminal escape protein among eight laboratories. A standard smooth bromegrass hay was established and evaluated in all four trials, and Trials 3 and 4 also included the standard hay material that was retained on a 75-microns sieve. Polyester bags (10 cm

Host-Derived Proteinases and Degradation of Dentine Collagen in situ
Caries Research, 2003Dentine root caries is a process of demineralization and degradation of the organic matrix by proteinases. In this in situ study, the presence and activity of the matrix metalloproteinases 1, 2 and 9 (MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-9) in saliva and in completely demineralized dentine specimens were investigated.

Bioremediation via in situ Microbial Degradation of Organic Pollutants
2013Contamination of soil and natural waters by organic pollutants is a global problem. The major organic pollutants of point sources are mineral oil, fuel components, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Research from the last two decades discovered that most of these compounds are biodegradable under anoxic conditions. This has led to the rise of bioremediation

An In Situ Probe for Investigating PEM Degradation Kinetics and Degradation Mitigation
ECS Transactions, 2011This study has demonstrated that a fluorescent molecular probe (6-carboxy fluorescein) can be used for in-situ, real-time monitoring of the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that are responsible for chemical degradation of the PEM (polymer electrolyte membrane) during fuel cell operation.

In Situ Opto-Hydrodynamic Characterization of Lubricant-Infused Surface Degradation
Langmuir, 2022Vapor condensation is widely used in industrial systems due to its effective heat and mass transfer when compared to single-phase thermal transport. In particular, dropwise condensation can significantly enhance heat transfer performance due to rapid droplet shedding and promotion of additional nucleation sites for vapor condensation.

In situ degradation kinetics of maize hybrid stalks
Animal Feed Science and Technology, 1997Abstract An understanding in plant factors influencing digestion kinetics could help develop maize cultivars, thus improving digestibility and consequently the production of ruminants. The stalk fraction of maize hybrids was used to study the cell wall digestion of hybrids varying from the brown midrib-3 (bm3) and their isogeneic normal (N) to normal

In situ degradability of Iranian barley grain cultivars
Small Ruminant Research, 2002Abstract Our objectives were to determine the extent of genetic variability in the rate and extent of ruminal digestion among 10 cultivars of barley. Barley samples ( Hordeum vulgare L.) were ground through a 2 mm screen, and bags containing 1 g of ground grains were incubated in the rumen of three ruminally cannulated rams for 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 and

Atrazine degradation by in situ electrochemically generated ozone
Chemical Engineering Journal, 2009Abstract A study on the evaluation of the effectiveness of atrazine degradation by in situ electrochemically generated ozone was conducted. Ti/β-PbO 2 electrodes were used as anodes for the ozone production. The rate of ozone generation, the ozone saturation concentration and the atrazine degradation rate increased with increasing current density.
