Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.A series of maize cytosine and adenine base editors was developed using various deaminase variants, enabling efficient multiplex genome editing in maize. Precise editing of the ZmACC1/2 genes generated herbicide‐tolerant maize germplasm, offering a solution for weed management in maize‐soybean intercropping systems.
