Inclusive Reaction by Swellable Clay Minerals. III

open access: yesJournal of Japan Oil Chemists' Society, 1991
The solubilization behavior of a poorly water-soluble drug (griseofulvin : GF) was examined using swellable clay minerals. The solubility of GF in pure water markedly increased by complex formation with clay minerals. GF in the complex was completely solubilized in pure water for the samples at a GF/clay mineral ratio less than 10 wt %.

Removal of Steroid Hormone Micropollutants by an Electrochemical Carbon Nanotube Membrane Flow‐Through Reactor: Role of Concentration and Degradation Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flow‐through electrochemical membrane reactor equipped with a carbon nanotube membrane eliminates the mass transfer limitation, achieving removals >97.5% for steroid hormone (SH) micropollutants through electrochemical adsorption and degradation, over a broad initial concentration varying from 50 to 106 ng L−1.

Davisite, CaScAlSiO_6, a new pyroxene from the Allende meteorite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Davisite, ideally CaScAlSiO_6, is a new member of the Ca clinopyroxene group, where Sc^(3+) is dominant in the M1 site. It occurs as micro-sized crystals along with perovskite and spinel in an ultra-refractory inclusion from the Allende meteorite.

Mineralogy and distribution of critical elements in the Sn–W–Pb–Ag–Zn Huanuni deposit, Bolivia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The polymetallic Huanuni deposit, a world-class tin deposit, is part of the Bolivian tin belt. As a likely case for a “mesothermal” or transitional deposit between epithermal and porphyry Sn types (or shallow porphyry Sn), it represents a case that ...

DENTA: A Dual Enzymatic Nanoagent for Self‐Activating Tooth Whitening and Biofilm Disruption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanoapatite with dual enzymes (DENTA) accumulates in dentinal tubules, reducing hypersensitivity caused by dental nerve exposure and facilitating continuous ROS generation through salivary glucose for effective, long‐term whitening. The dentin structures remain non‐destructive due to the low concentration of ROS, demonstrating excellent cell ...

Study of a hot asphalt mixture response based on energy concepts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The main objective of the research reported in this paper is to determine the response of a hot mix asphalt (HMA) in terms of both the tensile strength and energy parameters (based on the assessment of the force-displacement curve) as potential tools for

Anisotropic Shear Properties of Organic Interfaces in Bio‐composite Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel cantilever design enables direct probing of shear properties at single organic interfaces within biocomposite prismatic ultrastructures. By decoupling lateral and torsional shear responses, the method reveals isotropic behavior in Atrina vexillum and pronounced anisotropy in Unio pictorum.
