In Situ Constructed Magnetic Core‐Shell Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Framework‐on‐Metal–Organic Framework Structure: an Efficient Catalyst for Peroxymonosulfate Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...

Deciphering the Origin of Higher Shell Coordination on Single Iron Catalysts for Resilient Modulating Persulfate Oxidation Into Singlet Oxygen Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
This study reveals that higher shell S coordination can effectively modulate the spin state of FeN4 site via long‐range electronic interactions, giving rise to the oriented generation of singlet oxygen from peroxymonosulfate activation. Abstract Precise manipulation of coordination structure of single‐atom sites and establishment of schematic ...

Inclusive Reactions by Swellable Clay Minerals. II

open access: yesJournal of Japan Oil Chemists' Society, 1990
An organophilic-montmollironite (Or-Mon) was prepared by a cation-exchange reaction between sodium-montmollironite (Na-Mon) and dioctadecyldimethylammonium chloride (DODAC). The cation exchange amount of DO-DAC in the Or-Mon was 80 meq/100 g-Na-Mon. This corresponds to the cation exchange capacity (CEC) of Na-Mon. The basal spacing of the Or-Mon was 26.

Mineral resources in life cycle impact assessment—defining the path forward

open access: yesThe International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment, 2015
PurposeDespite 20 years of research, there remains no robust, globally agreed upon method—or even problem statement—for assessing mineral resource inputs in life cycle impact assessment (LCIA).

Thermally Induced Gelling Systems Based on Patchy Polymeric Micelles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
A novel strategy to design thermally induced gelling systems with tunable material properties is reported. Polymeric mixed‐shell micelles displaying multiple thermosensitive patchy domains formed hydrogels by assembling into well‐entangled worm‐like network structures upon heating to body temperature. The patchy micelle design significantly affects the

Applications of fluid inclusions in the study and exploration of mineral deposits

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Mineralogy, 1991
Fluid inclusions (FI) trapped in minerals represent the most direct evidence of the fluid phase attending a large variety of geological phenomena. Therefore, their investigation finds increasing application in many facets of the Earth sciences, and most notably in the study and exploration of mineral deposits.

Evidence for CO2-rich fluids in rocks from the type charnockite area near Pallavaram, Tamil Nadu [PDF]

open access: yes
Fluid inclusion and mineral chemistry data was presented for samples from the type charnockite area near Pallavaram (Tamil Nadu, India). The results indicate the presence of a dense CO2 fluid phase, but the data cannot distinguish between influx of this ...

Is there a role for vitamin C in preventing osteoporosis and fractures?:A review of the potential underlying mechanisms and current epidemiological evidence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Osteoporosis and related fractures are a major global health issue, but there are few preventative strategies. Previously reported associations between higher intakes of fruits and vegetables and skeletal health have been suggested to be partly ...
