A dataset of multi-level street-block divisions of 985 cities worldwide

open access: yesScientific Data
Street-blocks, as basic geographical units for dividing urban space, are widely used in urban planning and statistics. However, the availability and quality of street-block data vary significantly across different countries or regions worldwide.

Mycophenolate Mofetil Treatment Reduces the Risk of Treatment Escalation Due to Vascular Complications in Limited Cutaneous Systemic Sclerosis: Emulation of a Target Trial From the Italian Rheumatology Society SPRING Registry

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon because of the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

Rheumatologic Manifestations of Patients With Type B Insulin Resistance

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The objectives of this study were to identify laboratory and clinical features associated with type B insulin resistance (TBIR), a rare condition caused by autoantibodies that inhibit the insulin receptor, most frequently occurring in the setting of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and to increase awareness of this rare, life‐threatening ...

Prevalence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Australia, 2010–2022: A Population‐Based Study Using Linked National Administrative Health Data

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogenous inflammatory condition with widely varying global prevalence estimates. The frequency of SLE in the general population of Australia has been reported to be notably lower than contemporary estimates in countries such as the United States or United Kingdom, at 19 to 39 per 100,000 as opposed ...

A Note on the Balanced Incomplete Block Designs

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1956
It is a well-known property of the BIB design that all treatment effects are estimated with the same accuracy, i.e., that the variances of the estimates of the treatment effects are all equal and their covariances are also all equal. We show that the converse is also true. If the estimates of the treatment effects in an incomplete block design all have

Building a Framework for Sexual and Reproductive Health Care in the Rheumatology Context: Content and Approaches

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
People with systemic autoimmune and rheumatic diseases (SARDs) are at higher risk than the general population of experiencing adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes such as preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, and maternal and/or fetal death.

Atrial Fibrillation, Atrioventricular Blocks and Bundle Branch Blocks in Hemodialysis Patients

open access: yes, 2012
Atrial fibrillation is one of the most frequent arrhythmias diagnosed in clinical practice and it is also relatively common in dialysis patients. Atrioventricular and intraventricular conduction disturbances are less investigated in hemodialysis patients

Effects of Causal Beliefs About Gout on Public Views About Gout Management: A Randomized Experimental Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Despite well‐described biologic causes, the public views unhealthy lifestyle choices as the primary cause of gout. This study investigated how causal beliefs about gout influence the public's views about its management. Methods In a randomized study, 201 members of the public viewed one of two 2‐minute videos about gout.
