Evaluation of a cement incus replacement prosthesis in a temporal bone model [PDF]
In reconstruction of the ossicular chain for a damaged incus, it is important that the incus replacement prosthesis (IRP) length is ideal in order to provide optimal tension between the tympanic membrane or malleus and stapes head to achieve the best ...

Anatomical Characteristics of the Facial Nerve in Patients With Cochlear Hypoplasia
ABSTRACT Objective To quantitatively characterize the spatial relationships between intratemporal facial nerve segments and key cochlear implantation (CI) landmarks in cochlear hypoplasia (CH), and to compare these features with age‐matched CI recipients with normal inner ear anatomy, thereby informing preoperative planning and facial nerve ...

Sb2O2[CO3] was synthesized at 20 GPa in a laser‐heated diamond cell and is an antimony oxocarbonate with stereochemically active lone electron pairs on the antimony atoms. Its crystal structure is characterized by the presence of [CO3]2–‐groups and by interconnected “Sb2O5‐units” which form a Sb–O‐network within the b,c lattice plane.

Two different techniques to facilitate reconstruction of the long incus process with bone cement: a feasibility study in human cadaveric temporal bones [PDF]
The purpose of this feasibility study was to evaluate two novel techniques facilitating bone cement repair of ossicular discontinuity between the incus and stapes. An isolated damage of the long incus process can be repaired using bone cement.

Rare Lightning and Convection Characteristics During Two Successive Tornadoes in Southern China
ABSTRACT Systematic investigations into lightning characteristics of tornado storms in China remain scarce. This study comprehensively analyses rare lightning behaviour and overshooting top characteristics for two successive tornadoes during a long‐lived supercell in southern China on 27 April 2024.

Modelling the mechanics of the coupling between the incus and stapes in the middle ear [PDF]
A simple finite-element model which includes the pedicle and the incudostapedial joint was created and used for a preliminary analysis of the mechanics of the coupling between the incus and the stapes. Possible values for the Young's moduli of the joint,

ABSTRACT Background The choice of anastomotic technique in minimally invasive oesophagectomy (MIO) may influence postoperative morbidity and long‐term outcomes. The primary aim of our study is to determine whether circular (CS) or linear‐stapled (LS) anastomosis is associated with anastomotic complications following MIO.
