Vapor-pressure and enthalpy of vaporization of indan and five methyl-substituted indans

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1978
Abstract Vapor-pressure determinations were made for indan, 1,1-dimethylindan, 4,6-dimethylindan, 4,7-dimethylindan, 1,1,4,6-tetramethylindan, and 1,1,4,7-tetramethylindan. The results were used to obtain derived values of enthalpy of vaporization.

Spiro-indans from Cannabis sativa

Phytochemistry, 1986
Abstract Three new spiro-indans were isolated from hashish (Cannabis sativa). Their chemical structures were established by spectroscopic means, and by chemical correlation with cannabispiran and iso-cannabispiran. They were found to be 7-hydroxy-5-methoxyindan-1-spiro-cyclohexane, its isomer 5-hydroxy-7-methoxyindan-1-spirocyclo-hexane and 5,7 ...

Polyketones containing indane structure elements

Polymer Bulletin, 1992
Polyketones with indane structure elements were prepared by Friedel-Crafts polycondensation in three different reaction media. Only oligomers or insoluble material could be obtained, probably due to a side reaction of the indane ring, which leads to crosslinking at high conversion.

Indan-2,2-dicarboxylic acid, C11H10O4

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1994
The cyclopentene ring has an envelope conformation with the C atom carrying the carboxyl group lying 0.355 (2) A out of the best plane of the other four C atoms. The cyclopentene torsion angle along the fusion of both rings has a magnitude of -2.5 (3) o .

Phenyl indane from acorus calamus

Phytochemistry, 1986
Abstract Besides three known compounds, two new compounds, namely Z-3-(2,4,5-trimethoxy phenyl)-2-propenal and a new phenyl indane have been isolated from the rhizomes of Acorus calamus. These compounds have been characterized from their spectral data and by synthesis.

Synthesis of 2-Sulfonyl Indenes and Indanes

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
In this paper, we developed facile and high-yield synthetic routes for the preparation of 2-sulfonyl indenes and indanes, including: (i) Amberlyst-15-promoted Knoevenagel reaction of β-ketosulfones and arylaldehydes in refluxing toluene; (ii) Grignard reagent (R'MgBr) or reducing reagent (NaBH4) promoted regio- and/or stereocontrolled 1,4-addition or 1,

Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of Aromatic Dihydroxylated Spiro[indan-1,3′-pyrrolidine] and Spiro[indan-2,2′-pyrrolidine] Derivatives

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1985
Aromatic hydroxylated derivatives of the spiro[indan-1,3'-pyrrolidine] and spiro[indan-2,2'-pyrrolidine] ring systems have been synthesized and evaluated for dopaminergic agonist and antagonist activities. None of these conformationally restricted catecholamines possessed any dopaminergic activity, but 5,6-dihydroxy spiro[indan-1,3'-pyrrolidine ...

HERBICIDAL PROPERTIES OF SUBSTITUTED INDANS

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1969
The mixed isomers 1,1-dimethyl-4,6-diisopropyl-5-indanyl ethyl ketone and 1,1-dimethyl-4,6-diisopropyl-7-indanyl ethyl ketone (substituted indans) were assessed for their herbicidal properties under field, greenhouse, and growth chamber conditions.
