The binding of indapamide to isolated serum proteins and erythrocytes was studied in order to understand its blood distribution. In serum, indapamide was mainly bound to alpha 1-acid glycoprotein with a high affinity (K = 73.4/mM), and to albumin and lipoproteins.

Reaction of indapamide with NaOH at 100°C has been shown to yield a fluorescent product, which has excitation and emission wavelengths of 284 nm and 356 nm, respectively.

Abstract: The metabolism of 14C‐indapamide labeled in the indoline ring was determined after a single oral administration of a solution (4.99 mg, 90.47 μCi) to four fasted adult male volunteers. 14C‐indapamide was rapidly absorbed, and peak blood concentrations of radioactivity occurred by 0.5 hour in three subjects and at 2 hours in one subject.

Semiautomated Assay for Indapamide in Biological Fluids

Antidiuretic effect of indapamide in central diabetes insipidus

Abstract. Indapamide produced a significant decrease in urinary output in three patients with central diabetes insipidus. The 24-h urinary volume was reduced from 5 to 2.3 1 in a 39-year-old woman; from 11 to 4.3 1 in a 30-year-old man, and from 16 to 9.2 1 in a 40-year-old man receiving 2.5 mg of indapamide per day.
