Let Q be a quadratic form, \(Q=L^ 2_ 1+... +L^ 2_ r-... -L^ 2_ n\) where \(L_ 1,...,L_ n\) are real linearly independent quadratic forms. If \(n=18\), \(r=9\); \(n=19\), \(8\leq r\leq 11\); or \(n=20\), \(7\leq r\leq 13\), then we can solve \(| Q(x)| 0\). This extends work of Davenport, Birch and Ridout.

"It" is probably the most overworked word in the J_ English language. In English, unlike most other languages in common use, the gender of a noun is rarely significant. The overwhelming majority of English nouns are considered neuter, and "it" serves as the appropriate pronoun, with a definite reference.

Foreign Fighter Returnees: An Indefinite Threat?
Terrorism and Political Violence, 2018How long does it typically take a returned foreign fighter to launch a domestic terror attack? The issue of returnees, and appropriate national and international responses to potential threats, has become a preeminent security concern of the 2010s ...

Let $A$ be a Hermitian positive definite matrix given by its rectangular factor $G$ such that $A = G^{; ; ; \ast}; ; ; G$. It is well known that the Cholesky factorization of $A$ is equivalent to the QR factorization of $G$. In this paper, an analogue of the QR factorization for Hermitian indefinite matrices is constructed.

Abstract This chapter does not offer a complete survey of indefinites (determiner phrases (DPs) such as a boy, some girls, three women, etc.). Rather, it offers a selective discussion pivoted on the peculiar wide-scope properties of indefinites and also a seminal proposal for the explanation of such idiosyncrasy, which is that a choice ...
