Applying the Rules of Evidence to Expert Testimony About Risk
ABSTRACT Expert opinion about dangerousness or risk is common at sentencing, criminal commitment proceedings and some types of pretrial detention hearings. This article argues that such evidence must be (1) “material” (logically relevant, empirically generalizable, and epistemologically germane), (2) “probative” (a measure of accuracy, which is ...

Lightlike Hypersurfaces of Indefinite Generalized Sasakian Space Forms
We study lightlike hypersurfaces M of an indefinite generalized Sasakian space form M-(f1,f2,f3), with indefinite trans-Sasakian structure of type (α,β), subject to the condition that the structure vector field of M- is tangent to M.

Indefinite intertwining operators [PDF]
For a wide class of linear connected semisimple Lie groups, one obtains formulas limiting the Langlands parameters of irreducible unitary representations obtained from maximal parabolic subgroups. The formulas relate unitarity to the number of roots satisfying certain conditions. Some evidence is presented that the formulas are sharp.

While flexible TE devices hold promise for converting low‐grade waste heat (e.g., from human skin or electronics) into usable electricity, existing materials suffer from three major limitations: 1) poor mechanical stretchability (failing to match human skin's elongation, ~20–30%), limiting wearability; 2) tradeoffs between thermoelectric efficiency (e ...

We investigate recurrent, Lie-recurrent, and Hopf lightlike hypersurfaces of an indefinite trans-Sasakian manifold with a semi-symmetric metric connection. In these hypersurfaces, we obtain several new results.

Abstract Objective Epilepsy is a highly heterogeneous neurological disorder with significant prognostic variability. Accurate long‐term outcome prediction remains a clinical challenge. We investigated pharmacotherapeutic prognosis and key predictors, particularly baseline seizure timing, to guide individualized treatment.

On CR-Lightlike Product of an Indefinite Kaehler Manifold
We have studied mixed foliate CR-lightlike submanifolds and CR-lightlike product of an indefinite Kaehler manifold and also obtained relationship between them.

Pattern of Progression of Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders From Real‐World Data: A 24‐Year Study
ABSTRACT Background Oral potentially malignant disorder (OPMD) prognostication is limited by uncertainty of which lesions will progress and the aggressiveness of lesion progression. We defined patterns and kinetics of progression in a large cohort of OPMD subjected to serial clinical and histologic examinations. Methods This 24‐year study evaluated the
