Bayesian changepoint analysis for atomic force microscopy and soft material indentation
Material indentation studies, in which a probe is brought into controlled physical contact with an experimental sample, have long been a primary means by which scientists characterize the mechanical properties of materials.

Permanent indentation characterization for low-velocity impact modelling using three-point bending test [PDF]
This paper deals with the origin of permanent indentation in composite laminates subjected to low-velocity impact. The three-point bending test is used to exhibit a non-closure of matrix crack which is assumed as a cause of permanent indentation ...

Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Progress in Indentation Study of Materials via Both Experimental and Numerical Methods
Indentation as a method to characterize materials has a history of more than 117 years. However, to date, it is still the most popular way to measure the mechanical properties of various materials at microscale and nanoscale.

Unraveling deformation mechanisms around FCC and BCC nanocontacts through slip trace and pileup topography analyses [PDF]
Nanocontact loadings offer the potential to investigate crystal plasticity from surface slip trace emissions and distinct pileup patterns where individual atomic terraces arrange into hillocks and symmetric rosettes.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of
