Dynamic analysis of indentation rolling resistance of steel cord rubber conveyor belt

Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2018
To study the variation trend of the indentation rolling resistance of a rubber conveyor belt under different environmental temperatures, the sinusoidal compression displacement test was first carried out on the rubber matrix at six temperatures between -20 °C and 40 °C by a high and low temperature universal testing machine.

A comparison of rubber stress relaxation models for conveyor belt indentation rolling resistance calculations

International Journal of Mechanics and Materials in Design, 2018
Rubber stress relaxation models are the main material input data for numerical and analytical conveyor belt indentation rolling resistance calculations. Stress relaxation data for rubbers, such as those used in the construction of conveyor belts, are difficult to measure directly due to their fast relaxation times and, as such, they are usually derived

Indentation Rolling Resistance of Conveyor Belts Based on Maxwell Model

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
In order to obtain accurate results from computer simulation of the dynamic behavior of conveyor belts an accuracy description of the resistance forces, especially the indentation rolling resistance, is necessary. Since the indentation rolling resistance can account for the major part of the total rolling resistance, it is important to calculate it ...

A study of indentation rolling resistance to motion of conveyor belts using a generalized Maxwell model of the backing material

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology, 2015
A formula based on Winkler foundation and generalized viscoelastic Maxwell model of belt backing material has been given by Thomas J Rudolphi to determine the indentation rolling resistance. However, this formula must be solved by the iteration. As a result, the influence of some common working conditions can be reflected indirectly on this formula ...

Plastic Indentation Resistance as a Function of Retained Austenite in Rolling Element Bearing Steel

A S L E Transactions, 1962
Resistance to plastic indentation was measured on a series of 52100 bearing steel samples representing a wide range of heat treatments. The samples were subsequently analyzed for austenite content by an X-ray diffraction method. Within a limited hardness range definite positive correlation was found between austenite content and indentation sensitivity.
