Counting Maximal Distance-Independent Sets in Grid Graphs

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2013
Previous work on counting maximal independent sets for paths and certain 2-dimensional grids is extended in two directions: 3-dimensional grid graphs are included and, for some/any ℓ ∈ N, maximal distance-ℓ independent (or simply: maximal ℓ-independent ...

Misperception of Body Weight After Childhood Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Misperception of body weight can negatively impact the weight management efforts of childhood cancer survivors (CCSs). Both being overweight or underweight are associated with chronic health conditions commonly observed in CCS; therefore, accurate weight perception is critical for reducing long‐term health risks.

Independent Dominating Sets in Unicyclic Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Wilf found the maximum number of independent dominating sets of a tree using algebraic methods, while Sagan gave an elementary proof. In this thesis, we maximize the number of independent dominating sets of unicyclic graphs, giving a new proof of a ...

Independent sets of interpolation nodes or "how to make all sets regular"

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2012
Hermite-Birkhoff interpolation and Pál-type interpolation have been receiving much attention over the years. Also during the previous 15 years the subject of interpolation in non-uniformly distributed nodes has been looked into.

Finding Near-Optimal Weight Independent Sets at Scale

open access: yesJournal of Graph Algorithms and Applications
Computing maximum weight independent sets in graphs is an important NP-hard optimization problem. The problem is particularly difficult to solve in large graphs for which data reduction techniques do not work well.

Tracking Health Related Quality of Life From Diagnosis to Follow‐Up Among Australian Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is one of the most treatable forms of paediatric cancer; however, there is a substantial burden of treatment‐related toxicities (TRTs). In addition, the long‐term changes in children's health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) due to toxic treatments are not well understood.

Independent Zero-Knowledge Sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We define and construct Independent Zero-Knowledge Sets (ZKS) protocols. In a ZKS protocols, a Prover commits to a set S, and for any x, proves non-interactively to a Verifier if x S or x / S without revealing any other information about S.

Immunoglobulin Depletion and Recovery Following Blinatumomab in Infants With KMT2A‐Rearranged ALL

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adding blinatumomab to standard chemotherapy for infants with KMT2A‐rearranged acute B‐cell lymphoblastic leukemia (KMT2A‐r B‐ALL) improves outcomes. Although blinatumomab impairs immunoglobulin G (lgG) production, increasing infection susceptibility, IgG recovery remains poorly understood.
