Identifying the Relationship Structure Among Multiple Datasets Using Independent Vector Analysis: Application to Multi-Task fMRI Data

open access: yesIEEE Access
Identifying relationships among multiple datasets is an effective way to summarize information and has been growing in importance. In this paper, we propose a robust 3-step method for identifying the relationship structure among multiple datasets based ...

Universally Rigid Framework Attachments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A framework is a graph and a map from its vertices to R^d. A framework is called universally rigid if there is no other framework with the same graph and edge lengths in R^d' for any d'.

Rhizobial motility preference in root colonization of Medicago truncatula

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 1, Page 547-562, April 2026.
Summary Tunnel‐like infection thread (IT) structures support root colonization by symbiotic nitrogen‐fixing rhizobia bacteria in most legume species. These tip‐grown structures are key to directing rhizobia from root hairs to developing nodules, where they are hosted to fix nitrogen.

Nonparametric survival analysis of epidemic data

open access: yes, 2011
This paper develops nonparametric methods for the survival analysis of epidemic data based on contact intervals. The contact interval from person i to person j is the time between the onset of infectiousness in i and infectious contact from i to j, where

Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Soft Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 24, 23 March 2026.
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) can be actuated via electromechanical, electrochemical, or electrothermal effects. a) Electromechanical effects include Maxwell stress, electrostriction, and the electroclinic effect. b) Electrochemical effects arise from electrode redox reactions.

A de Finetti representation theorem for infinite dimensional quantum systems and applications to quantum cryptography

open access: yes, 2008
According to the quantum de Finetti theorem, if the state of an N-partite system is invariant under permutations of the subsystems then it can be approximated by a state where almost all subsystems are identical copies of each other, provided N is ...

Identification and Characterization of an In Silico Designed Membrane‐Active Peptide with Antiviral Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
An evolutionary molecular dynamics platform is used to design P1.6, a membrane‐active peptide that senses lipid packing defects in viral envelopes. P1.6 adopts a stabilized α‐helical structure upon membrane contact, disrupts virus‐like liposomes, and damages HIV‐1 particles.

Effects of momentum conservation on the analysis of anisotropic flow

open access: yes, 2002
We present a general method for taking into account correlations due to momentum conservation in the analysis of anisotropic flow, either by using the two-particle correlation method or the standard flow vector method.

Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 2 activation of the AMPK–CEBPB axis to enhance glutamine utilization to promote glycolysis and malignant behavior in adenocarcinomas cells under glucose deprivation

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 1, March 2026.
Glucose deprivation is a key characteristic of the tumor microenvironment. In this study, we verified through in vitro experiments that phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 2 (PCK2) upregulates solute carrier family 38 member 2 (SLC38A2) via the AMPK–CEBPB axis, thereby enhancing glutamine utilization in A549 cells, which in turn promotes glycolysis and ...

Using Quadratic Programming to Reconstruct Data From Published Survival and Competing Risks Analyses

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 6-7, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The ability to retrieve pseudo‐individual patient data (IPD) from published survival study results is important to facilitate meta‐analysis, evidence synthesis or secondary data analyses for the purpose of decision modeling for cost effectiveness analysis. While established methods exist for retrieving pseudo‐IPD from Kaplan–Meier plots, these
