The Module Index and Invertible Ideals [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1970
A. Frohlich used the module index to classify the projective modules of an order in a finite dimensional commutative separable algebra over the quotient field of a Dedekind domain. This paper extends Frohlich's results and classifies the invertible ideals of an order in a noncommutatives eparable algebra.

Iterative Multiuser Minimum Symbol Error Rate Beamforming Aided QAM Receiver

open access: yes, 2008
A novel iterative soft interference cancellation (SIC) aided beamforming receiver is developed for high-throughput quadrature amplitude modulation systems.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

IM-OFDM ISAC Outperforms OFDM ISAC by Combining Multiple Sensing Observations

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology
Index Modulated Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (IM-OFDM) based Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) is potentially capable of outperforming Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) ISAC, since Index Modulation (IM ...

Body mass index modulates postural proteinuria

open access: yesInternational Urology and Nephrology, 2009
Dear Sir, In contrast to constant proteinuria, postural proteinuria has been generally regarded as a benign condition [1–4]. However, anecdotal observations suggest that postural proteinuria might sometimes reflect incipient kidney disease [5, 6].

Controlling the path of discretized light in waveguide lattices

open access: yes, 2011
A general method for flexible control of the path of discretized light beams in homogeneous waveguide lattices, based on longitudinal modulation of the coupling constant, is theoretically proposed.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Dual-Mode Time-Domain Index Modulation for Nyquist-Criterion and Faster-Than-Nyquist Single-Carrier Transmissions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
In this paper, we propose a novel dual-mode time-domain single-carrier (SC) index modulation (DM-SCIM) scheme, where the combination of two constellation modes carries information bits further to modulated symbols, hence increasing the transmission rate.

Dynamical light control in longitudinally modulated segmented waveguide arrays

open access: yes, 2011
We address light propagation in segmented waveguide arrays where the refractive index is longitudinally modulated with an out-of-phase modulation in adjacent waveguides, so that the coupling strength varies along propagation direction.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
