Sequency Index Modulation: A Novel Index Modulation for Delay-Sequency Domain Waveforms
IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2023In this letter, the sequency domain is introduced as a novel resource to propose a new index modulation, which is named sequency index modulation (SeIM). In SeIM, information bits are implicitly conveyed through the indices of the activated sequencies enabling bit error rate (BER), spectral efficiency, and power efficiency enhancement.

Generalized Spatial Modulation With Multi-Index Modulation
IEEE Communications Letters, 2020In this letter, we propose a novel scheme extending index dimension with two distinct signal constellations, named as generalized spatial modulation with multi-index modulation (GSM-MIM). Through this scheme, which exploits the spatial domain and index domain, more extra information bits are transmitted by the spatial indexes as compared with the ...

We present a brief tutorial overview of the basic physics of periodically modulated index structures and how they affect an incident electromagnetic wave in various simple limits. Discussions of the wave-vector spectrum, coupled-amplitude equations, and finite grating-size effects are included.

Index Modulation Multiple Access
2018 IEEE 29th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2018In this paper, the use of index modulation (IM) technique for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is presented, called the Index Modulation multiple access (IMMA). From the concept of index modulation, IMMA technique uses the active subcarriers and inactive subcarriers to make index indices.

Chapters 2, 3, and 4 discuss how index modulation operates based on constellation and code resources. In this chapter, we focus on the implementation of pilot-based index modulation for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The idea of information-guided pilot insertion OFDM (IGPI-OFDM) is proposed, in which the pilot positions are ...

Differential Subcarrier Index Modulation
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2018One of the main challenges in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)–subcarrier index modulation (SIM) systems is the huge amount of resources required to obtain channel state information at the receiver side. In this paper, a differential subcarrier index modulation (DSIM) scheme is proposed, which entirely avoids the need for any channel ...

Polar codes with short code length under successive cancellation (SC) decoding are inferior to other advanced codes of similar block length. Although more sophisticated algorithms, such as SC list (SCL) decoding and SC stack (SCS) decoding were introduced to address the problem, the complexity of these algorithms has also increased.

In this chapter, we introduce a novel code-based index modulation technique for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), named index modulated OFDM spread spectrum (IM-OFDM-SS), which utilizes the indices of spreading codes to convey information in addition to conventional constellation symbols. We first present the system model of IM-OFDM-SS,
