On the Economic Consequences of Index-Linked Investing [PDF]
Trillions of dollars are invested through index funds, exchange-traded funds, and other index derivatives. The benefits of index-linked investing are well-known, but the possible broader economic consequences are unstudied.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Atomistic Structure of High Index Surfaces [PDF]
Interatomic potentials of the embedded atom (EAM) type were used to study the atomistic structure of high index surfaces in metals and ordered alloys. The results show that a structural unit model can be developed to model the structure of the high index

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A survey of index structure in big data era
With the advent of the big data era,the volume of data storage has exploded. In order to ensure the performance of system, the concurrent index structure becomes more and more important. However, the increase of storage volume and the increase of user ...

Coupling Index and Stocks [PDF]
In this paper, we are interested in continuous time models in which the index level induces some feedback on the dynamics of its composing stocks. More precisely, we propose a model in which the log-returns of each stock may be decomposed into a systemic

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

INDICATORS OF SOIL AGGREGATION AND THEIR CHANGES IN CONSERVATION TILLAGE FOR ONION
Soil structure depends on several factors, among which are farming system and soil tillage. The state of aggregation determines the water-air relations in soil and influences the thermal conductivity, porosity and density of soil, availability of ...
