A tissue culture system for different germplasms of indica rice

Plant Cell Reports, 2006
Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of indica rice has been manipulated in only a limited number of cultivars because the majority of indica varieties are recalcitrant to in vitro response. Establishment of a highly efficient and widely used tissue culture system for indica rice will accelerate the application of transformation technology in breeding

Effects of the proteins of indica rice and indica waxy rice on the formation of volatiles of sweet rice wine

International Journal of Food Science & Technology, 2022
SummaryThe proteins in the raw materials affect the formation of flavour during fermentation. Among all the fermentation broth of protein fraction in the study, the rice prolamin and albumin effectively promoted floral, honey and fruity characteristics in fermentation with higher level of β‐phenylethyl alcohol, 2,4‐dimethyl‐benzaldehyde and ethyl ...

Transgenic indica rice plants

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1992
We have established a system to genetically engineer indica rice plants. In order to obtain transgenic plants, genes were introduced into protoplasts isolated from suspension cells of the indica rice var 'IR54' with the aid of polyethylene glycol (PEG). The neo gene was on pKAN and the gusA gene was on pPUR.
