Antagonistic action of indigenous Streptococcus mutans strains.

Acta odontologica latinoamericana : AOL, 2009
Dental caries is an infectious process which ultimately destroys the tooth. Streptococcus mutans is considered to be the main agent causing this disease. If microorganisms with antagonistic action on S. mutans were found, they might provide a way of avoiding or controlling the disease.

Metal tolerance of an indigenous cyanobacterial strain, Lyngbya putealis

International Biodeterioration & Biodegradation, 2011
Abstract Response of an indigenous cyanobacterial strain ( Lyngbya putealis ) isolated from contaminated site to increasing levels of copper and cobalt was investigated in single metal systems. This cyanobacterial strain showed better response when the medium was spiked with metal. As compared to cobalt treatment, copper had more favorable effect. In

Lindane Biodegradation by Defined Consortia of Indigenous Streptomyces Strains

Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, 2011
The current study aimed to compare lindane degradation by pure and mixed cultures of Streptomyces sp. Cell-free extracts were assayed for potentiating dechlorinase activity and, based on these results, consortia of two to six microorganisms were assayed for their growth on and degradation of lindane.

RAPD fingerprinting of indigenous Sinorhizobium meliloti strains

2000
Effective alfalfa production would have to include application of inoculation with highly efficient Sinorhizobium meliloti strains because of significant reduction in mineral nitrogen fertilization which has important economical and ecological effects.

Indigenous Strains of Rhizobia and Their Performance in Specific Regions of India

2004
The production and application of biofertilizers for leguminous crops, oilseeds, rice, millets, and other important crops (besides forest nursery plants) are very common in India. Currently, more than 95 firms belonging to public and private sectors are involved in the production of biofertilizers, with the annual capacity of 18,000 metric tons (out of

Symbiotic effectiveness of indigenous Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains

1998
Jedan od glavnih izvora popunjavanja dušičnog fonda oraničnih tala je biološka fiksacija molekularnog dušika iz atmosfere, a koji se nalazi u nepristupačnom obliku za više biljke. Zasebno mjesto pripada simbiotskoj fiksaciji i mikroorganizmima rodova Rhizobium i Bradyrhizobium.

Further studies on tularemia in Alaska: virulence and biochemical characteristics of indigenous strains

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1974
Cultures of Francisella tularensis isolated in Alaska were compared on the basis of their virulence and biochemical characteristics. Isolates from the hare, Lepus americanus Erxleben, and the hare tick, Haemaphysalis leporispalustris (Packard), conform to the description of F. tularensis nearctica Ols. in their ability to kill domestic rabbits, guinea

Genetic identification of indigenous Saccharomyces cerevisaie strains by RAPD

2004
