Love at the first sight, does it truly exist? Examining the formation of implicit first impression on a new product image

open access: yesCogent Business & Management
First impression is an important concept in marketing as its effect is carried along over period of time and more stable. Research of first impressions within the marketing context tend to measure first impressions explicitly, yet literature suggests ...

Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Numerical investigations on constitutive model parameters of HRB400 and HTRB600 steel bars based on tensile and fatigue tests

open access: yesReviews on Advanced Materials Science
In recent years, HRB400 and HTRB600 steel bars have become the mainstream standard reinforcing steel used in concrete structures in China. However, significant controversy still exists regarding the selection of material constitutive models and the ...

Derivation of transformed stress method based on indirect thermodynamic method

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
The unique plastic potential function consistent with the yield function can be directly determined by the Drucker's postulate and its associated flow law deduction after the yield function is established for the continuous materials without dilatancy ...

A Comparative Review of Predictive Ability of Direct and Indirect Methods Cash Flow Information [PDF]

open access: yesبررسی‌های حسابداری و حسابرسی, 2009
This research examines the usefulness of direct method cash flow information; in particular, whether the direct method leads to more accurate predictions of future operating cash flows than the indirect method.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

Measuring luminosity at LHCb using elastic diphoton dimuon production

open access: yes, 2011
We report on an indirect method being used to measure luminosity at LHCb. It involves recording the event rate of elastic diphoton dimuon production.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Predicting and Comparing the Subjective Health Experience of Older Cancer Survivors and Non‐Cancer Survivors: A Modeling Approach

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This study underscores the significant influence of frailty and vitality on the subjective health experience of older cancer survivors with acceptance and control emerging as salient mediators. These findings affirm the conceptual and empirical robustness of the model highlighting its potential utility in shaping future interventions for older cancer ...
