Indirect methods of data collection
1993Interviewing and the use of questionnaires are two methods of data collection that rely very much on the involvement, participation and contribution of the respondents. These methods act directly on the respondents, who in turn provide information about themselves or about other people.

Indirect Methods of Blood Pressure Measurement
Pediatric Clinics of North America, 1978The auscultatory method of measurement is still the one most commonly used. In infants other methods often must be used, including the flush method, palpation, ultrasound, and oscillometry. Precautions for avoiding errors in measurements are discussed, and techniques of the various methods are detailed.

MACROPORE CHARACTERIZATION BY INDIRECT METHODS
Soil Science, 1993Macropores are important in preferential flow; therefore, function and continuity of macropores are often more important than visual observation. The objective of this research was to compare several indirect methods of determining macropore volume.

Indirect Methods for Optimal Control
2017In this chapter, indirect methods to solve optimal control problems are discussed. Indirect methods rely on first-order necessary conditions, summarized in Pontryagin’s minimum principle, and attempt to locate control and state trajectories, which satisfy these conditions.

Indirect methods to estimate hidden population.
Revista espanola de salud publica, 2018Estimating the prevalence of the so-called “hidden populations” can be challenging, because the identification of its members is difficult due to their socially sanctionable or illegal behaviours. This article provides a critical review of the most widely used methods for estimating the size of a hard-to-reach population.

Indirect methods of star counting
Vistas in Astronomy, 1955Abstract The general problem of star counting consists in the determination from a photographic plate of the distribution of the star images with image size. Since the number of images on one plate can exceed a million, methods which involve counting the stars individually are obviously very limited in scope.

Searching for planets: indirect methods
2004Though direct methods can tell us more about an exoplanet than indirect methods, it will probably be some years before we will be able to detect planets orbiting other stars in this way, and so at present we have to rely on the comparatively less challenging indirect methods.
