An Indirect Block-Oriented Representation for Genetic Programming
When Genetic Programming (GP) is applied to system identification or controller design different codings can be used for internal representation of the individuals. One common approach is a block-oriented representation where nodes of the tree structure directly correspond to blocks in a block diagram.

Indirect representation and the self-representational theory of consciousness
Philosophical Studies, 2013According to Uriah Kriegel’s self-representational theory of consciousness, mental state M is conscious just in case it is a complex with suitably integrated proper parts, M1 and M2, such that M1 is a higher-order representation of lower-order representation M2.

The Lonely Citizen: Indirect Representation in an Age of Networks
Political Communication, 2005This article explores what it means to be represented and how the nature of representation might change in an age of networks. Citizens' perceptions of political connection and disconnection are examined on the basis of quantitative and qualitative surveys. A typology of political connection is presented and then expanded on the basis of the discussion

Direct and Indirect Representation
British Journal of Political Science, 2014How much can a constituency influence the power of its representative in the legislature? This article develops a theoretical model of the constituency basis of legislator influence. The key players in the model are interest groups that may receive targeted transfers from the legislature. The model predicts that the amount of transfers that such groups

Motion Parallax Representation for Indirect Augmented Reality
2016 IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR-Adjunct), 2016Indirect augmented reality (IAR) presents pre-generated augmented images for achieving high-quality geometric and photometric registration between pre-captured images and virtual objects. Meanwhile, IAR causes spatial inconsistency between the real world and presented images when users move from the location where the real scene was captured.

Indirect Analytic Representation of Foucault's Pendulum
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, 2002A complex representation of the equations of motion of the Foucault's pendulum is considered and the inverse problem is solved to derive an indirect analytic representation. Both real L R (i) and imaginary L I (i) parts of the derived complex valued Lagrangian are found to reproduce the equations of motion via the Euler-Lagrange equations.
