Biologically active compounds from selected aphyllophorales mycelial cultures [PDF]
The obtained results confirm the hypothesis that mycelial cultures of domestic species of aphyllophorales are able to accumulate biologically active metabolites.Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że przebadane kultury mycelialne krajowych gatunków grzybów ...

Diverse biological effects of glycosyltransferase genes from Tartary buckwheat [PDF]
Background: Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) is an edible cereal crop whose sprouts have been marketed and commercialized for their higher levels of anti-oxidants, including rutin and anthocyanin. UDP-glucose flavonoid glycosyltransferases (UFGTs)

Esters of Indole-3-Acetic Acid from Avena Seeds [PDF]
The present studies showed that about 80% of the indole-3-acetic acid extractable from Avena kernels by aqueous acetone was esterified to polymers precipitable by ammonium sulfate and ethanol or acetone. The polymers were positively charged, being adsorbed to cation exchange columns at a pH of 3, or below, and eluted at a pH greater than 4.

Endophytic fungi are known to produce indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), which can stimulate plant growth. Twenty-seven isolates of endophytic fungi were isolated from Coffea arabica in northern Thailand. Only one isolate (CMU-A109) produced IAA in vitro.

New 3H-Indole Synthesis by Fischer’s Method. Part I.
Methyl indolenines (4a-c) and(5a-c) were prepared in high yield by a Fischer indole synthesis reaction of o,m-tolylhydrazine hydrochlorides (1a-b) with isopropyl methyl ketone (2) and 2-methylcyclohexanone (3) in acetic acid at room temperature.

Biosynthetic Pathway of Indole-3-Acetic Acid in Basidiomycetous Yeast Rhodosporidiobolus fluvialis
IAA biosynthetic pathways in a basidiomycetous yeast, Rhodosporidiobolus fluvialis DMKU-CP293, were investigated. The yeast strain showed tryptophan (Trp)-dependent IAA biosynthesis when grown in tryptophan supplemented mineral salt medium.

Unlocking fruit dimensions: Quantification of functional traits driving plant–frugivore interactions
Abstract Fleshy fruits attract animals to ingest fruit, swallow the seeds, and release them in the landscape, thus facilitating seed dispersal and plant regeneration. Attraction of animal dispersers is achieved via attractants such as color or scent, and rewards like sugars, lipids, and micronutrients.
