Genome-Wide Identification, Functional Analysis and Expression Profiling of the Aux/IAA Gene Family in Tomato [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Auxin is a central hormone that exerts pleiotropic effects on plant growth including the development of roots, shoots, flowers and fruit. The perception and signaling of the plant hormone auxin rely on the cooperative action of several components, among

Indole-3-acetic Acid Catabolism by Soybean Bacteroids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1975
SUMMARY: Bacteroid preparations from nodules of soybean were able to destroy aerobically substantial quantities of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). Kinetic studies indicate the involvement of two processes. The supernatant derived during preparation of bacteroids had an active IAA oxidation during the first 30 min.

Gut microbiota metabolite indole-3-acetic acid maintains intestinal epithelial homeostasis through mucin sulfation

open access: yesGut microbes
The global incidence and prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are gradually increasing. A high-fat diet (HFD) is known to disrupt intestinal homeostasis and aggravate IBD, yet the underlying mechanisms remain largely undefined. Here, a positive

Spermine Derivatives of Indole‐3‐carboxylic Acid, Indole‐3‐acetic Acid and Indole‐3‐acrylic Acid as Gram‐Negative Antibiotic Adjuvants

open access: yesChemMedChem, 2020
The discovery of new antibiotic adjuvants is an attractive option for overcoming antimicrobial resistance. We have previously reported the discovery of a bis‐6‐bromoindolglyoxylamide derivative of spermine as being able to enhance the action of ...

Benzoylcholine, Indole-3-acetic And Human Serum Butyrylcholinesterase Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesTürk Biyokimya Dergisi, 2006
In this study we studied the kinetic interaction of indole-3- acetic acid with human serum butyrylcholinesterase. Butyrylcholinesterase was purified from human serum and the benzoylcholine kinetics was analyzed.

Effect of fluorophenylalanine on indole-3-acetic acid levels in Aveaa coleoptiles

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
The effect of the amino acid analogue D,L-p-fluorophenylalanine on indole-3-acetic acid levels in Avena has been examined. Previous studies have established that D,L-p-fluorophenylalanine promotes elongation, lowers phenolic levels and depresses auxin ...

Unexpected Dual Function of Plant YUCCA Enzymes Links Chlorophyll Catabolism to Auxin Homeostasis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
YUCCA enzymes are well known to catalyze the main step of auxin biosynthesis in plants. Here, a hitherto undescribed dual function was discovered, revealing that some YUCCAs also act in chlorophyll degradation. In vitro feedback regulation furthermore suggests a link between chlorophyll degradation and hormone homeostasis and a physiological role of ...

Enhanced production of indole-3-acetic acid by a genetically modified strain of Pseudomonas fluorescens CHA0 affects root growth of cucumber, but does not improve protection of the plant against Pythium root rot [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The biocontrol strain CHA0 of Pseudomonas fluorescens produces small amounts of indole-3-acetic acid via the tryptophan side chain oxidase and the tryptophan transaminase pathways.

Alanine Conjugate of Indole-3-butyric Acid Improves Rooting of Highbush Blueberries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Auxins and their synthetic analogues are commonly used for rooting of cuttings, but their efficiency depends on experimental set-up and, even more importantly, on species or cultivar, and type of explants investigated.

Indole-3-acetic acid alleviates DSS-induced colitis by promoting the production of R-equol from Bifidobacterium pseudolongum

open access: yesGut microbes
Background Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by immune-mediated, chronic inflammation of the intestinal tract. The occurrence of IBD is driven by the complex interactions of multiple factors.
