Transport and metabolism of indole-3-butyric acid in cuttings of Leucadendron discolor
Plant Growth Regulation, 1993Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) greatly enhanced the rooting of an early-flowering variety of protea, Leucadendron discolor, but had very little effect on a late-flowering variety. IBA transport and metabolism were studied in both varieties after incubating the cuttings in 3H-IBA.

Multiple facets of Arabidopsis seedling development require indole-3-butyric acid-derived auxin.
The Plant cell, 2011Levels of auxin, which regulates both cell division and cell elongation in plant development, are controlled by synthesis, inactivation, transport, and the use of storage forms. However, the specific contributions of various inputs to the active auxin pool are not well understood.

Determination of indole-3-butyric acid in plant culture medium by fluorescence derivatization
Microchemical Journal, 1991A spectrofluorometric method for determining indole-3-butyric acid based on its reaction with copper sulfate in concentrated sulfuric acid has been developed. The method is compared with an indole-3-butyric acid determination method using its intrinsic fluorescence at basic pH, and both are applied to the indole-3-butyric acid analysis in culture ...

Characterization and partial purification of indole-3-butyric acid synthetase from maize (Zea mays)
Physiologia Plantarum, 1995In previous work it has been shown that the route from indoleacetic acid (IAA) to indolebutyric acid (IBA) is likely to be a two‐step process with an unknown intermediate designated ‘product X′. Our objective was to characterize and purify enzyme activities that are involved in these reactions.

Propagation Principles in Using Indole-3-Butyric Acid for Rooting Rosemary Stem Cuttings
Journal of Horticulture, 2015Indol-3-butyric acid (IBA) was applied in 0-100 ppm concentrations as a soaking medium of rosemary cuttings for one, three and six hrs or in low (0-20 ppm) concentrations continuously for cuttings rooting. Cuttings number of induced roots and root length and rosmarinic acid, phenolic and alkaloids contents, giving rosemary plant its edible and ...

Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) is an efficient plant growth regulator for promoting germination and the formation of rooting of various plants. Since it is unstable and presents the low utilization ratio, there is a compelling need to design an environmentally friendly formulation for IBA, which can reduce the loss of degradation and improve its ...

The role of auxins in induction of roots byAgrobacterium rhizogenes was studied in carrot root disks. Transformed roots were produced on root disks by inoculation withA. rhizogenes, A4. Measurement of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) indicated that there was a significant increase in the concentration of IAA in
