Indoor object localization

2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN), 2013
Setting up of any indoor localization system involves many difficulties. This paper proposes a Simple, Low cost & Small sized system for indoor localization. The basic processing elements of this system constitute RSSI & LQI (symbol error rate). An ISM band compliant low cost cc2500 zigbee module capable of outputting digital RSSI and LQI values is ...

Indoor localization applications

2014 22nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2014
In this study, the data set of received signal strength (RSS) and time of arrival (TOA) measurements is obtained by using the test setup with ZigBee devices for indoor positioning applications. By using this data set, performance of three types of fingerprinting positioning techniques is analysed with respect to the mean RSS value based, the ...

Indoor localization by WiFi

2011 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing, 2011
The demand for accurate indoor localization techniques is increasing. The existing infrastructure of 802.11 WiFi networks can be exploited to position a device in a building. In this paper a positioning system is presented to locate a robot device in the Faculty of Computer Science building.

Indoor localization with correction and validation

2020 19th RoEduNet Conference: Networking in Education and Research (RoEduNet), 2020
This paper proposes a hybrid system for indoor localization. It is composed of a core system and a validation subsystem. The core system is range-based which uses a lateration algorithm based on RSSI. This component also has a correction mechanism for the attenuation coefficient (Path Loss of the environment).

Fast localization in indoor environments

2009 IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence for Security and Defense Applications, 2009
In this paper, we propose an algorithm for fast indoor localization. The algorithm does not require any sensors to be installed; instead, localization is determined using image matching. Our system studies (or learns) the indoor environment through detecting image junctions using the so-called JUDOCA detector.

Indoor localization

Proceedings of the International Conference on Mobile Software Engineering and Systems, 2016
Accurate indoor positioning can transform the retail, travel and transportation, and sports industries. For example, think of getting a mobile coupon for a shirt when you are standing near to it in a clothing store and turn-by-turn indoor navigation to the food booth with the shortest queue in airports and stadiums.

Indoor localization with a signal tree

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2017
Indoor localization based on image matching faces the challenges of clustering large amounts of images to build a reference database, costly query when the database is large and indistinctive image features in buildings with unified decoration style. We propose a novel indoor localization algorithm using smartphones where WiFi, orientation and visual ...

Indoor localization

Proceedings of the 19th annual international conference on Mobile computing & networking - MobiCom '13, 2013
Indoor navigation and location tracking have been popular academic research topics in our community for more than a decade. This has lead to a vast amount of theoretical results, positioning techniques, and system prototypes that were developed in academia and industry research labs for efficient and accurate indoor localization and navigation ...

Indoor localization based on LEDs

2011 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications (CCA), 2011
LEDs have many advantages compared with the conventional lamps. Therefore LEDs are expected to be the next generation of lamps that will be widely installed to replace conventional lamps. Due to their rapid response times, LED's can be modulated at very high-speeds, which allows the possibility of simultaneously providing communication while ...
