The iNAV Indoor Navigation System

2007
COMPASS is a location framework where location sources are realized as plugins that contribute probability density functions to the overall localization result. In addition, COMPASS uses a decentralized location-based service discovery based on Peer-2-Peer distributed hashtables to retrieve semantical data on the determined position.

Indoor Navigation Using A* Algorithm

2016
This paper introduced an indoor navigation application that helps junior students in Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSKTM) to find their classroom location. This project implements the A* (pronounced A Star) path finding algorithm to calculate the shortest path for users.

Behavior-Based Indoor Navigation

2005
Ambience provides large amounts of heterogeneous data that can be used for diverse purposes, including indoor navigation in semi-structured environments. Indoor navigation is a very active research field due to its large number of possible applications: mobile guides for museums or other public buildings [36], office post delivering, assistance to ...

Duco - Hybrid Indoor Navigation

2016
This paper proposes an application especially designed for indoor navigation, Duco. A hybrid approach at trying to find a solution to the problem of indoor navigation by mainly utilising pedestrian dead-reckoning (PDR) along with the aid of iOS wireless location determination systems to aid the process.

Generation of indoor navigable maps with crowdsourcing

Proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia, 2016
This paper presents our research in developing a model for the dynamic generation of indoor maps with crowdsourcing. With approximation of the user traces, we generate a point cloud and develop the topology of the space from time based segmentation of the traces. Moreover, we add semantic information for navigation and localization enabled maps.

Context-Aware Indoor Navigation

2008
Over the past few years, several technological advances have been made to enable locating people in indoor settings, where way finding is something we do on a daily basis. In a similar way as it happened with GPS and today's popular outdoor navigation systems, indoor navigation is set to become one of the first, truly ubiquitous services that will make

An Approach for Hybrid Indoor/Outdoor Navigation

2017 International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE), 2017
The wide availability of GPS-enabled devices has fueled the development of location-based applications. Among the most popular are navigation applications that guide users along their way. Due to the limited availability and precision of GPS in typical indoor environments, most navigation applications are limited to outdoor scenarios. To mitigate this,

Considering Existing Indoor Navigational Aids in Navigation Services

2017
Existing indoor navigational aids such as signs and floor plans are originally designed to assist navigation and to support spatial learning. However, they are often neglected in current navigation services. Integrating such information adequately into indoor navigation services requires a better understanding of their usages.

Mass-market requirements for indoor positioning and indoor navigation

2010 International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation, 2010
The next step in location services will be repeating the success of location services in outdoor use for navigation and local search in the indoor environment. In order to make indoor positioning and navigation reality in large scale not only compelling business opportunities must be present, but also the technology must be low-cost, low-power, have ...
