Cost-effectiveness analysis of different types of labor for singleton pregnancy: Real life data [PDF]

open access: yesSrpski Arhiv za Celokupno Lekarstvo, 2014
Introduction. Views on the conduct of labor have changed over time, and a significant difference exists in relation to obstetric centers. Objective.

Labor induction with randomized comparison of cervical, oral and intravaginal misoprostol

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2021
Background This study attempts to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of 50μgm intracervical misoprostol in comparison with intravaginal and sublingual for the induction of labor at term pregnant women.

Term and Preterm Birth Initiation Is Associated with the Macrophages Shifting to M1 Polarization in Gestational Tissues in Mice

open access: yesBiology, 2022
Inflammation in gestational tissues plays critical role in parturition initiation. We sought to investigate the leukocyte infiltration and cytokine profile in uterine tissues to understand the inflammation during term and preterm labor in the mouse model.

High Cesarean Section Rates during Labor Induction in Low Risk, Late-Term Cephalic Pregnancies in a Tertiary Centre

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology
Background: The cesarean section rate is high in countries such as Türkiye, Egypt, and Brazil. The aims of this study were to determine whether the cesarean section rate during labor induction is high in late-term cephalic pregnancies ...

Comprehensive nursing management of mesenteric venous thrombosis after induced labor in a patient with thrombophilia (1例易栓症引产术后合并肠系膜静脉血栓患者的综合护理)

open access: yes中西医结合护理
This paper reports the nursing management of mesenteric venous thrombosis after induced labor in a patient with thrombophilia. In consideration of the critical illness condition, comprehensive nursing interventions were carried out including: Assessing ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Evaluation of Paraoxonase 1 Oxidative Stress Enzyme in Cord Blood of Newborn to Patients Delivered with Oxytocin Induced Labor

open access: yesThe Iraqi Journal of Medical Sciences, 2022
Background: The use of labor induction to shorten the duration of a pregnancy has increased steadily during the last few decades. Paraoxonase 1 levels were observed to be higher in the oxytocin-induced group than in the spontaneous labor group ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Modeling hormonal and inflammatory contributions to preterm and term labor using uterine temporal transcriptomics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: Preterm birth is now recognized as the primary cause of infant mortality worldwide. Interplay between hormonal and inflammatory signaling in the uterus modulates the onset of contractions; however, the relative contribution of each remains ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
